How Does Revanesse Work?

Revanesse® works thanks to a clear, pure, non-animal-based gel called hyaluronic acid (HA). Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our bodies. This unique substance can bind and attract water which helps retain volume and plays a vital role in the replenished and lifted shape of your facial features.

Am I a Good Candidate for Revanesse?

Good candidates for Revanesse® dermal injections have noticeable facial wrinkles, sagging skin, and hollow cheeks. Revanesse can also be used to augment the lips, fill bags under the eyes as well as treat wrinkles on the hands. 

After discussing your goals, we create a facial map on how we can bring back lost features, enhance your overall complexion, tone, texture, and reduce wrinkling and sagging.

Filler enhancements are not for pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with autoimmune diseases or disorders, sensitivity to hyaluronic acid, or local anesthetic. You must inform us if you regularly take any Aspirin, anti-inflammatories, or anticoagulants during your consultation.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?

A typical Revanesse® injection takes about 20 to 30 minutes to perform. We always do our best to reduce discomfort during your treatment. We begin by applying a topical cream, which helps to numb the skin in the area we treat. The products we use contain a local anesthetic, which helps significantly with sensitivity. These, in combination with a skilled and gentle touch, helps create a positive and comforting experience.

What Results Will I See?

The aim of filler is to create a natural and beautiful look without an overdone or puffy face. 

With advanced injection techniques, we can lift and re-contour the cheekbones and lift the skin laterally, reducing the mouth’s jowl appearance. We appreciate the importance of avoiding the overdone look. For example, cheeks that are too full in the apple area can make your eyes appear sunken and small. Our doctors correct things laterally to ensure your eyes and face are highlighted and naturally balanced.

You can expect to feel lifted and rejuvenated after your first visit, and the benefits of this treatment will continue over time. Two to six weeks after your initial visit, water will bond with the product to enhance further hydration and rejuvenation in the skin, creating a smooth and radiant look. With our approach to facial fillers, many patients express exponential results with consecutive visits.

Is There Any Downtime?

Swelling and bruising vary by each individual. It is normal to have some swelling and a general “tight” feeling after the treatment. Bruising can develop, and we do recommend pre and post-treatment homeopathic arnica, which helps reduce the risk. Refraining from the use of Asprin, anti-inflammatories, fish oils, alcohol, and other blood-thinning agents can also minimize bruising. You can apply mineral makeup to cover the areas immediately afterward, but you should avoid other cosmetics for the first 24 hours.
